Sept 20 Romulus 45 Robichaud 25

Seven touch downs were scored in our 45-25 win over the visiting bulldogs of Robichaud. We scored only one time in the first quarter. That was on a 14 yard run by Shamier Peggs (32).

In the second quarter we picked up two scores. Alexander Carter (31) got both of them with runs of 2 and 80 yards. Shamier Peggs (32) picked up the extra point after the second score that quarter. At the half it was a 19-19 tie.

The third quarter saw Romulus come alive. They shut out Robichaud and scored 13 points. The first score was a 92 yard kick return by Daijon Frazier (33) and the second a 14 yard reverse play carried in by DeVonte Sanson (1). The extra point on the run back was made by Alexander Carter (31).

The fourth quarter saw one score by Robichaud but two more by Romulus. Alexander Carter(31) ran 41 yards for a touch down and Tony James (82) stripped the ball from the quarter back and ran 25 yards for the second TD of the quarter. Carter (31) got to run in his own extra point after his touch down run.

On the defensive side, Bryan Moore (52) was high man with 7 tackles. Alexander Carter (31) and Daniel Statham (93) both added 5 each. Carter (31) added a sack along with one by Daijon Frazier (33). Shaquille Tipton (25) knocked down a pass attempt and recovered a fumble.

As to yards gained....Carter (31) racked up 188 on 12 carries. Shamier Peggs (32) had 88 on 10 carries. Daijon Frazier (33) had 123 on only 3 carries. DeVonte Sanson (1) added 14, Tony James (82) had 25, Gregory McCloud (12) ran for 20 on 2 keeper plays, and Bryant Moore (15) had one carry for 23 yards with a great fake.

We are looking to improve and do even better next week.

Sept 27 Highland Park 39 Romulus 6

A school record was set today. Not one we looked forward to, but a record of sorts. The score for Highland Park was the largest ever against a bulldog team.

On a bright note, Shamier Peggs(32) scored our only touchdown on a 7 yard run. Zach Williams (55) was high for tackles with 4.

Oct 4 Romulus 20 Best 0

The Bulldogs got back on their winning ways with a win over O.W. Best. DeVonte Sanson(1) got our first TD with a 35 yard run in the first quarter. Alexander Carter(31) made the extra point.

Carter(31) made a 90 yard punt return when he was kicked loose by a great block by James Boler(40). Daijon Frazier(33) made the extra point to make the score 14-0 just before the half.

Alexander Carter(31) ran 47 yards for the only score in the 4th quarter. We were able to play a 5th quarter and our 7th grade squad shut Best down for a 0-0 tie.

We had a great defensive game. Robert Hayes (72) got to play some serious defense this game and made 9 tackles for the game high. Cody Hammons(43) and Bryan Moore(52) each had 7 tackles. Dan Statham(93) and James Hollis(98) each had 6. We had several players with 3 and 4 tackles each. Chauncey Payne(83) intercepted a pass while Marcus Williams(77) and James Boler(40) each contributed a quarterback sack.

Oct 11 Hilbert 23 Romulus 20

We put out the effort, but it was not quite enough. DeVonte Sanson(1) scored two touchdowns and Daijon Frazier(33) added one more while Shamier Peggs(32) and Alex Carter(31) converted Point After Touchdown attempts. We got close, but not close enough.

On defense Bryan Moore(52) had ten tackles while Robert Hayes(72) and Zach Williams(55) both added seven. James Hollis(98) recovered a fumble and Alex Carter(31) recovered a kick-off before the other team could get a handle on the ball.

Hilbert is a well coached team and stress focus and discipline the way we do. We are looking forward to playing them again next year.

Oct 18 Romulus 29 Willow Run 12

The team got back on their winning ways today. Aaron Hicks(36) scored in the "5th" quarter to start us off. Shamier Peggs(32) scored two touchdowns and one extra point. Alex Carter(31) and DeVonte Sanson each added one touchdown and Alex added another extra point to our collection.

On defense, Robert Hayes(72) and Bryan Moore(52) each had six tackles. Daniel Statham(93) had four tackles, an intercepted pass and ran the interception back for 15 yards. Given he is a seventh grader, things look good for next year. Alex Carter(31) had 4 tackles, a sack, and tipped away a Willow Run pass as his contribution to our effort.

We can't say enough about Alex Carter(31). He carried the ball 16 times today and found all kinds of new ways to make yardage. We look forward to next week at Ecorse where we have a chance to make this a real winning season.

Oct 25 Romulus 35 Ecorse 13

Alexander Carter (31) ran for three touchdowns, two extra points and a total of 217 yards. In addition he set the new school record for total yards in a season at 846 yards. This is even more amazing when you consider that the 7th grade offence played most of the second half while Alex and his 8th grade team mates cheered them on.

Shamier Peggs(32) ran for a touchdown as did Aaron Hicks(36). Aaron also ran for an extra point. Our Kick-off man, James Hollis(98) kicked for a Point After which added two points to the team score. James added a key tackle that prevented the other team from running back a kick-off for a touchdown.

On Defense, Marcus Williams (77) and DeVonte Sanson(1) each had six tackles. Dan Statham(93) had five while batting down a pass and making a sack. Jerry McCray(34) stripped the ball from their running back and ran it back for a touchdown. It was called back due to an early whistle. The line judge admitted that the whistle was early and the TD should have counted, but it was a great play even if we did not get the 6 points. Mattarius Buford(54) and Darrian Crawford(24) and Jordan Frayor(61) each recovered a fumble. Marcus Williams(77) caused a fumble that ended a long drive for Ecorse.

We had a great year and are looking forward to next season. The seventh grade offence and defense played most of the second half and did very well. Things look good for next year.
