Sept 22, Romulus 26 Highland Park 0

Aaron Bailey(34) ran for 130 yards on 5 carries and scored 2 Touch Downs.  Jordon Haywood (32) ran for 22 yards and one Touch Down.  Marcell Rogers (24) ran for 54 yards and scored both extra points.  Antonio James (81) caught a pass for a Touch Down.  John Perez (58) was high man for tackles with 6.

Coach Awards were given to the entire starting offensive line for a super job of setting up our backs:  Amonti Yharbrough (75), Robert Hays (77), Jesse Norman (64), Justin Jadzinski (53), and Shamir Peggs (66).

Coach Awards were also given to:  Kazam Sheikh (89) 5 tackles and a critical hit causing a fumble, Antonio James (81) critical catch/run, DeAndre Washington (30) Fumble Recovery, 5 tackles and a critical hit, and Aaron Bailey (34) yardage/TDs.  Kazam Sheikh will also be awarded a Bulldog Shirt for his Key hit that changed the momentum of the game.

The coaching staff is proud of the way the team conducted itself on and off the field and are looking forward to next week.

Sept 28, Romulus 41 Dearborn Heights O.W. Best 0

For the second time this season the Bulldogs scored more than a point a minute.  In 32 minutes of football they scored 41 points.  Aaron Bailey (34) had 3 touchdowns and was awarded a team shirt.  Alexander Carter (30) ran for two touchdowns.  Marcell Rogers (24) scored one touchdown and one extra point.  Joseph Herbert (15) kicked two extra points. (NOTE: In middle school a kicked extra point is worth 2 points.)

Both the green and gold defense out did themselves and did not allow Best to get more than 30 yards in total offense.  The entire Green Defense was given a Coach's Award toward (DaJuan Andrews (62), Antoine Wade (85), Jon Perez (58), Armonti Yharbrough (75), Ajah Ajah (90), Christopher Reyna (1), Dane Snowball (25), Jason Moore (55), John Nathaniel (65), Alexander Carter (31), and Joseph Herbert (15).

John Perez (58) led the defense with 8 tackles and a recovered fumble.  For putting together two great defensive games in a row he was awarded a team shirt.  Alexander Carter (31) had 10 tackles and Aaron Bailey (34)was in on 4.  Jordon Haywood (32) and Marcell Rogers (24) recovered kicks we made to the other team giving us an extra offensive set of downs.  Both received a Coach's Award for their efforts.

Two School Board Members commented positively about the way the team conducts itself.  They were impressed with the team discipline both on the field and at the side lines.  This team makes the coaching staff proud.

Oct 5, Romulus 32 Redford Hilbert 0

Today the Kick-Off team recovered it's 3rd and 4th kicks of the year.  This is quite an accomplishment as we have not used an on-side kick.  For this reason the unit was given a coach's award.  Christopher Reyna (1), Gregory McCloud (12), Marcell Rogers (24), Daijon Frazier (33), Aaron Bailey (34), Tristan Allan (40), Zachary Williams (50), Jason Moore (55), Corey Arnett (86), and Kazam Sheikh (89).

Marcell Rogers (24) scored two touch downs on runs of 13 and 38 yards.  Jordon Haywood (32) scored three touch downs.  Two were on runs from the line of 45 and 49 yards.  The other was on a picked up fumble and a run of 49 yards.  Joseph Herbert scored two points while kicking extra points.

Armonti Yharbrough (75) was given a coaches award for an open field tackle that saved a touch down.  He also got to play some defense today and made a total of 5 tackles.   Jon Perez added to his team leading number of tackles and is now up to 22 for the year.  Game shirts were awarded to Dane Snowball for his text-book perfect side line (open field) hits.  Jordon Haywood was given his shirt for 3 touch downs, several tackles and a recovered fumble.

We had a good turn-out of parents at the game and look forward to seeing everyone again next week at Willow Run.

Oct 12, Romulus 27 Willow Run 0

Jon Perez set a new team record with 14 tackles in one game. He also recovered a fumble. For his efforts he received 2 coaches awards.  Aaron Bailey ran for 187 yards and scored two touch downs.  One of his touch downs was on an intercepted pass and a run of 95 yards.  Marcell Rogers intercepted two passes, scored a touch down  made an extra point and ran for a total of 94 yards.  Marcell also made 6 tackles on defense.  Jordon Haywood made 7 tackles, scored a touch down and ran for a total of 40 yards.

Chris Reyna made 7 tackles (one that stopped a touch down run) and was awarded a coaches award.  Armonti Yharbrough made 9 tackles while Ajah Ajah got a coaches award for his work on defense.

Team shirts were given to Armonti Yharbrough and Marcell Rogers.

Oct 19, Romulus  32 River Rouge 0

Marcell Rogers (24) ran for 225 yards, two touchdowns and intercepted 3 passes for a fantastic game.  Jordon Haywood (32) ran for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Aaron Bailey (34) ran for 80 yards, scored two touchdowns and set a new school record for yards carried in a season at 620 total yards.  The DEFENSE added 2 points on what we think is the first safety scored by our middle school ever.

Zachary Toilolo (54) was the high man for tackles with 9.  Jon Perez added 7 tackles to his total for the year.  Coaches awards were given to the following players for continued outstanding play:

Derrick Stewart (10), Marcell Rogers (24), Dane Snowball (25), Jordon Haywood (32), Aaron Bailey (24), Justin Jadzinski (53), Zachary Toilolo (54), Jason Moore (55), Jon Perez (58), Jesse Norman (64), and Ajah Ajah (90).

Before this game started the Bulldogs had scored a total of 2963 points as a program.  Jordon Haywood's (32) touchdown in the first quarter made it 2999.  Aaron Bailey's (34) score (also in the first quarter) put us over 3000.  This in a night full of mile stones for the program.

After the game a presentation was made.  Coach Williams was given the game ball, a plaque and a card signed by the team, school staff members and students in commemoration of the 100th win for the team.  Coach Williams began his roll as an assistant coach in 1985 when the team was created and has been part of it ever since.

Game shirts were given to Derrick Stewart (10) for setting up several scoring opportunities.  Justin Jadzinski (53) who has not had one fumbled snap from center for the entire year.  Zachary Toilolo (54) for 9 tackles in the game and a fantastic open field hit on the kick off.  Jason Moore (55) who now has the third highest total of tackles.  Jesse Norman (64) for his outstanding game as a pulling guard and his work with the defensive unit.  Ajah Ajah (90) for his work on both the offensive and defensive line.

Oct 26th,  Romulus 38 Robichaud 7

Jordon Haywood (32) had a fantastic game with 3 touchdowns, a recovered kick and a total of 120 yards.  Marcell Rogers (24) had two touchdowns, an intercepted pass (he now leads the team in this area) and gained 99 yards.  Aaron Bailey(34) had one touchdown a recovered fumble and added 115 yards to his school record for yards gained.

John Perez (58)set a new school record with 50 tackles in 6 games.  Zachary Toilolo (54), Jason Moore (55) and Aaron Bailey (34) each added 5 tackles to their totals for the year.  Dane Snowball (25) made several key tackles that kept Robichaud from scoring more than their one touchdown.

The team set a new record for the least amount of points scored against us.  We gave up only 7 points this year.  The previous best was 12 set in 1987.  Great Job Defense!!!!!!!!!!!

The entire coaching staff would like to thank the parents of this year's Bulldog Team.  This is one of the best groups of young men and women (YES we had a female play football this year, Catherine Bratcher (44)).  Our 7 managers were also first rate and did a great job of getting all of the support items done for the team.
